Philosophies
A more conventional website may have named this section, "About Us,"
however, we've never yet been accused of seeming conventional! An intuitive
understanding of our customers lends us the insight of what's important to
them and we think they care most about the inspiration behind Follow Your
Bliss, what guides it, and the soulful spirit that moves and grows through
it.
The creation of Follow Your Bliss and subsequently, this website, has been a
labor of love. It has historically been our goal to develop a business that
is a more than just an ethical retail storefront, but also a reference and
resource to our customers, seekers, and businesses who share our desire to
do business with global conscience.
As we've nurtured this project like a newborn babe, we've discovered a
heartfelt sense of passion, responsibility, and surprising refreshment in
its development. This inspiration has been guided by many "gems" of
philosophy and wisdom offered to us by a plethora of individuals and
societies, some famous; some unknown. In an effort to share the essence of
our existence with our visitors, we offer a scrapbook of our favorite
quotes, wisdoms, graphics, and links for their enjoyment, consideration, and
reflection. We hope you enjoy this experience as much as we do!
"If you follow your bliss, you put yourself on a kind of track that has been
there all the while, waiting for you, and the life that you ought to be
living is the one you are living. Wherever you are-if you are following
your bliss, you are enjoying that refreshment, that life within you, all the
time." ~~Joseph Campbell~~ Joseph Campbell

LISTEN TO YOUR HEART
ABOVE ALL OTHER VOICES
~Marta Kagan~
May our souls join in the end,
but our minds not.
~Tanya Pasquarelli~ Owner, Follow Your Bliss For Her Soulmate, John
Life should not be a journey to the grave,
With intention of arriving safely,
In a pretty and well preserved body,
But rather,
To skid in broadside,
Thoroughly used up,
Totally worn out,
And loudly proclaiming,
"WOW! What a ride!"
~ Author Unknown~
No being's time or worth is more valuable than another's.

A nation that continues year after year to spend more money on military
defense than on programs of social uplift is approaching spiritual doom.

"Do not dwell in the past, do not dream of the future, concentrate the mind
on the present moment."
--The Buddha
In the present circumstances, no one can afford to assume that someone else
will solve their problems. Every individual has a responsibility to help
guide our global family in the right direction. Good wishes are not
sufficient; we must become actively engaged
~His Holiness the Dalai Lama~
"Would those of you in the cheaper seats clap your hands? And the rest of
you, if you'll just rattle your jewelry."
~John Lennon~
His Holiness, the Dalai Lama, has said that having the mantra on your
computer works the same as a traditional Mani (prayer) wheel. As the digital
image spins around on your hard drive, it sends the peaceful prayer of
compassion to all directions and purifies the area.

It is no longer good enough to cry peace,
we must act peace, live peace,
and live in peace.
Shenandoah Proverb
When you were born, you cried
and the world rejoiced.
Live your life
so that when you die,
the world cries and you rejoice.
~Unknown~
Humankind has not woven the web of life. We are but one thread within it.
Whatever we do to the web, we do to ourselves. All things are bound
together. All things connect.
~ Chief Seattle~
"We are not sinful, shameful human creatures who have to somehow earn
spirituality. We are spiritual beings having a human experience."
~The Dance of Wounded Souls by Robert Burney~
You must be the change you wish to see in the world." ~ Mahatma Gandhi~
"Each time a person stands for an ideal, or acts to improve the lot of others, or strikes out against injustice, he or she sends forth a tiny ripple of hope. And crossing each other from a million different centers of energy and daring, those ripples build a current that can sweep down the mightiest walls of oppression and resistance. Few are willing to brave the disapproval of their fellows, the censure of their colleagues, the wrath of their society. Moral courage is a rarer commodity than bravery in battle or great intelligence. Yet it is the one essential, vital quality for those who seek to change a world that yields most painfully to change. ~Robert F. Kennedy~
